Carey Price, Connor McDavid, and the richest contracts in NHL history

A pair of franchise cornerstones were locked up on huge contracts during the span of a week when the Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers inked Carey Price and Connor McDavid, respectively, to massive extensions.

The deals place the superstars among the highest-paid players in NHL history, with Price’s eight-year, $84-million contract the richest ever for a goalie, and McDavid’s reported eight-year, $106-million pact working out to an eye-popping $13.25M per season.

Here’s a look at where these mega deals rank among the richest contracts ever handed out.
