Season 7 of Game of Thrones will see worlds collide, as Daenerys Targaryen arrives in Westeros to stake a claim to the Iron Throne. She’ll have to wrest it from Cersei Lannister’s cold, scheming fingers, though. And then there are the Starks, who have finally returned to and regained their family seat in Winterfell. Of course, the greatest threat of all is waiting on the other side of the Wall — the Night King and his army of White Walkers.
As viewers count down the days until the HBO drama’s seventh-season premiere on July 16, Yahoo TV is launching our official countdown: #GoTIsComing. Check back here every day as we give updates on all of your favorite characters, details on an important new location, and a travel guide to the locations of Westeros. So pull on a thick coat and get ready for a long and brutal winter.
There is a lot of Game of Thrones merchandise available, but few collectibles are more popular than Funko Pop! dolls. Their adorably cartoony faces juxtapose nicely with the grimness of the show. And they’re priced reasonably enough (they retail for around $9) so that you may find that after buying your favorite character, it’s easy to buy just one more until you have shelves filled with them.
“It’s a badge of honor,” for actors to get a Pop! made of their character, says Funko’s director of marketing, Mark Robben. So much so that at least one of the Thrones actresses — Robben wouldn’t say who — accosted Funko’s CEO at Comic-Con wondering when one would be made for her character. If you’re curious about how the actors play with their own Pop! figurine, Funko Instagrammed the cast doing just that at last year’s premiere.
There are a number of exclusives — sent to specific retailers or events — offering rare and fun variations of favorite characters. This year, San Diego Comic-Con takes place the week after Season 7 premieres and features an exclusive Gold Armor version of “The Mountain” (aka Zombie Gregor).
The Thrones cast is huge, so even though there are already more than 70 different figures, there are still more that fans are clamoring for — input that Funko takes very seriously. Robben says which figures get made are the result of balancing “who [HBO] would like to focus on [and] who we would like to particularly tackle,” as well as what retailers say are selling well. “We also lean heavily on feedback from fans — who fans are asking for, who they feel is missing from their collections.”
That could mean we finally get to see Catelyn Stark or Jaqen H’ghar — two longtime characters who have yet to receive their own Pop! — or possibly even Lyanna Mormont, who parlayed her brief onscreen time last season into cult status. ‘We’ll definitely have some announcements for New York City Comic-Con,” says Robben. “I think fans will be happy.”

Game of Thrones Season 7 premieres Sunday, July 16, at 9 p.m. on HBO.

01 Tyrion Lannister
In his original, courtly Lannister garb.
01 Scar Tyrion Lannister with Black Attire — PopCultcha
PopCultcha is an Australian retailer, which is why this Pop is properly displayed upside down.
02 Ned Stark
Funko director of marketing Mark Robben says he hopes to revisit Ned in the future with a more dynamic pose, perhaps facing off against Jamie Lannister in their duel from Season 1.
02 Headless Ned Stark — 2013 San Diego Comic-Con
There is a magnet in the head and neck so you can recreate the infamous beheading scene whenever you like.
03 Daenerys Targaryen
The dragon she’s carrying is Rhaegal — distinguished by his green body and red wings.
03 Daenerys Targaryen with Gold Dragon — Barnes & Noble
The dragon here is Viserion. He’s easy to remember because he’s named after Viserys, who had a memorable encounter with gold.
03 Daenerys Targaryen with Red Dragon (Error)
Rhaegal was made all red instead of green body/red wings.
04 Khal Drogo
With traditional Dothraki Arakh.
05 The Hound
If anyone’s deserving of a second Pop!, it’s The Hound, who has gone from Kingsguard to farmer to avenging demon over the course of the series. Who doesn’t want a Farmer Clegane?
06 White Walker
First created by the Children of the Forest in their war against the First Men. Could Funko be plotting the same?
06 Glow in the Dark White Walker — HMV
Fans suggest using a cheap UV flashlight to get the best glow from these figures.
07 Jon Snow
With Longclaw, the sword given to him by Jeor Mormont on “The Wall.”
07 Beyond the Wall Jon Snow — Walmart
Jon Snow is literally covered in snow in this re-creation of his time searching for his Uncle Benjen.
07 Bloody Jon Snow — Hot Topic
Lay him down in a pool of strawberry jam for the proper end-of-Season-5 effect.
08 Robb Stark
No word yet on plans for a version with a detachable head you can swap with his wolf, Grey Wind. Probably not ever, to be honest.
09 Arya Stark
Arya has had a number of looks throughout the series, but only a single Pop. However, there are multiple versions of the character in other Funko lines.
10 Jaime Lannister
In his Kingsguard armor.
11 Cersei Lannister
Remember when incest was the worst you could pin on Cersei? Remember?
12 Renly Baratheon
In the books, his crown combines the stag antlers of the House of Baratheon with the roses of the House of Martell — though in the show, it’s just antlers.
13 Brienne of Tarth
In real life, actress Gwendoline Christie is 6-foot-3, so she’s far from the tallest in the cast. Still, is it too much to ask for a 6-inch supersize Pop?
13 Bloody Brienne of Tarth — Hot Topic
This is Brienne’s original sword before Jaime gave her the Oathkeeper.
14 Joffrey Baratheon
Is there a more appropriately horrifying accessory for Joffrey than a crossbow? Just remember: No matter how bad you think Presidents Obama or Trump were/are — it could be worse. It could always be worse.
Sadly, Funko Pops are not heavy enough to hold doors.
For a while, Drogon and his siblings were about the size of housecats. In Season 7, they’ll be the size of 747s.
17 Tywin Lannister
In his armor from the Battle of Green Fork.
Rose Leslie didn’t know how to use a bow and arrow before the show, but says she finds it “therapeutic” and plans to continue doing archery in the future.
Of the original litter of direwolf pups, only Ghost remains — though Arya’s Nymeria went missing and may still be alive.
19 Flocked Ghost — 2014 San Diego Comic-Con
Instead of the traditional smooth plastic, this is covered with a layer of fuzz perfect for snuggling.
This dragon is the second “child” of Daenerys to be named after her deceased brother, Rhaegar. Her son, Rhaego — who was stillborn as a result of blood magic intended to heal Khal Drogo — was the first.
21 Battle Armor Tyrion Lannister
The Battle of Blackwater should have made Tyrion a hero, but his exploits went unsung. Varys knows, however, and it helped forge a lasting friendship between the two.
22 Viserion — Hot Topic
Viserion and Rhaegal are imprisoned beneath Mereen while Drogon flies free in Season 5, which may account for their slightly smaller size.
23 Grey Wind
All the Northern Inuit dogs who played the direwolves in the series — including Grey Wind — were adopted. However, only Lady (played by dog actor Zunni) was adopted by “her” human — Sophie Turner.
24 Wedding Daenerys Targaryen
This figure also comes as a two-pack with Khal Drogo.
25 Mhysa Daenerys Targaryen
Her outfit as she conquers the slaver city of Yunkai. Mhysa aka mother aka Breaker of Chains.
26 Jon Snow Castle Black
In Westeros, once you go black, you literally cannot go back.
26 Muddy Jon Snow Castle Black — Hot Topic
For all your Night’s Watch training montages.
27 Samwell Tarly
Maybe a future version will have him with his family sword (which he stole), Heartsbane?
28 Sansa Stark
In her guise as Alayne, niece of Peter Baelish.
29 Petyr Baelish
The innovator of “sexploitation,” thankfully, does not come with a play set.
30 Oberyn Martell
Please think about your request for a “Squooshed Head Oberyn” before making an official request. It’s super-gross.
