Floyd Mayweather bowed out from boxing after record his 50th victory with a tenth round stoppage against MMA star Conor McGregor in Las Vegas.
The stars flocked to Sin City to witness the most lucrative fight in history as the veteran ring master pulled on the gloves for one last time to extend his perfect run.
Mayweather, who surpassed Rocky Marciano’s 49-0 record with this triumph, admitted boxing newcomer McGregor’s ability had surprised him.
“He is a tough competitor,” Mayweather said. “He was a lot better than I thought. But I was the better man.
“I guaranteed everybody this would not go the distance. Boxing’s reputation was on the line.”
