Kerry Washington keeps her edges slicked down with this household item

While making the promo rounds for the series finale of Scandal, Kerry Washington has been sporting several hairstyles. One thing that’s remained consistent: her slicked-down edges.

It can get tricky maintaining a sleek hairline when it’s windy, humid, or you’re just breaking out in a sweat. However, Washington’s hairstylist Takisha Sturdivant-Drew uses a common household item to slay those edges.

Sturdivant-Drew revealed in an Instagram post detailing how to get the half-up, half-down ponytail hairstyle the actress wore to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert that she “brushed down her edges with my wooden toothbrush.” It definitely works, and we highly recommend using the tool with a non-flaking gel product like Creme of Nature Perfect Edges Black to cover grays and to camouflage hair loss.

Get into Washington’s superslick edges, and find out which other stars made our Perfect 10 list, Yahoo Lifestyle’s weekly roundup of the best celebrity beauty looks.
