Off the Post!!! The 7 Premier League Stars to Have Hit the Woodwork the Most This Season

The hard-working statisticians of the Premier League have recorded which players have struck either the post or the bar the most amount of times this season, producing a rather interesting list. Whether finding the woodwork reflects how successful a player is in the final third overall is for you to decide though... Here are the seven Premier League Stars to Have Hit the Woodwork the Most This Season... Number of times hit the woodwork this season: 8 Leading the way is Manchester City's Kevin...

Charlie Adam

Number of times hit the woodwork this season: 4

The Stoke City midfielder can't be encouraged enough to have a go at goal, as his halfway line strike against Chelsea a couple of seasons ago testifies.

Yet this year the 31-year-old only has a single Premier League goal to his name, despite coming extremely close on four other occasions.

Daniel Sturridge

Number of times hit the woodwork this season: 4

Despite not playing much this season, the Liverpool striker makes the list as a result of his sheer enthusiasm, others may call it selfishness, to test the keeper.

Sturridge remains a bit-part player at Liverpool, with injuries again limiting his time in the first team.

Alexis Sanchez

Number of times hit the woodwork this season: 4

Arsenal's talisman may not be at the club for much longer, if speculation is to be believed, but it has been a stellar season nonetheless for the Chilean forward.

Sanchez is another to have struck the woodwork on four occasions this season.

Christian Eriksen

Number of times hit the woodwork this season: 4

Critics say that Tottenham Hotspur's Danish playmaker needs to add more goals to his game if he is to reach world class status, but it's not as if he isn't trying.

Eriksen has six goals to his name in the top flight this campaign, but he could've been in double figures had it not been for the woodwork.

Jack Wilshere

Number of times hit the woodwork this season: 5

Taking the bronze medal is on-loan Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere's, whose time at Bournemouth this season has been indifferent to say the least.

The England international midfielder must feel cursed with his strikes always so close to hitting their mark.

Paul Pogba

Number of times hit the woodwork this season: 6

The world's most expensive player, Pogba was always going to have it all to do following his record breaking transfer from Juventus to Manchester United last summer.

The tall Frenchman has been somewhat of a flop for the Red Devils and has been off-target when unleashing his powerful strikes.

Kevin De Bruyne

Number of times hit the woodwork this season: 8

Leading the way is Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian international consistently performs at the highest level for the Citizens, but his efforts this season have more often than not struck the woodwork as opposed to the back of the net.
