Photographer captures haunting abandoned places of worship in Europe

This incredibly haunting body of work was created by a committed photographer traveling across Europe to capture the continent’s abandoned places of worship. James Kerwin’s journey took him from small chapels in Wales to stunning monasteries in Italy, as well as relics in Spain, Belgium and France.

The photographer, from Norwich, England, said he is fascinated by the craftsmanship and hard work that went into building such important places of worship, and through his images he likes to show their depth and grandeur.

Although he revealed the countries where his beautiful images were taken, the 35-year-old Kerwin did not name the exact spots that he traveled to in order to shoot such wonders, adding an element of mystery to his work. (Caters News)
