Their smiles! Her ring! That coat! Hours after news broke that the prince will be marrying the American Suits actress, the pretty — and oh-so-in-love — pair did their royal duty of appearing for a photo call at the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace in London. It was perfection.

On Nov. 27, it was announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged. The royal was asked by reporters during the photo op whether the proposal was romantic. “Of course it was,” he replied. (Photo: Getty Images)

Come spring, they’ll be walking down the aisle, but on Monday they walked hand in hand to the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace, which is the royal residence where Harry, as well as his big brother Prince William, were raised. (Earlier this year, the garden was dedicated to Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, for the 20th anniversary of her death.) He had on a blue suit while she stunned in a belted white jacket from the Canadian brand Line the Label. Toronto has been home to Markle, who shot Suits there. (Photo: Chris Jackson/Getty Images)

They have the wave down! Harry described himself as “thrilled, over the moon” about the engagement. As for when he realized she’s the one, he said, “The very first time we met.” That meeting took place in July 2016. They were reportedly introduced in London through a mutual friend, Markus Anderson, and made their first public appearance in September at the Invictus Games opening ceremony. The ring, the ring, the ring. That’s what you really want to see, right? The custom engagement ring features a trio of diamonds. The center stone is from Botswana — a country where the two have spent a significant amount of time, according to reports — and it’s flanked by two diamonds from Princess Diana’s personal collection. (If you recall, Prince William gave Kate Middleton Diana’s sapphire ring, so the men continue to honor their mother and incorporate her into their relationships.) The gems sit on a gold band that was made by the queen’s jeweler, Cleave and Co. (Photo: Chris Jackson/Getty Images)

Here’s a better look at her coat, which she wore over a green dress by P.A.R.O.S.H. Markle is a fan of Line the Label, which describes itself as “effortless understated luxury,” and wore one of the company’s trenches earlier. Of course, there’s now speculation about who she will have design her wedding dress. Meghan has said that her favorite celebrity wedding dress of all time was Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s Narciso Rodriguez slip dress. She called it “everything goals.” (Photo: Getty Images)

Meghan’s look was way more buttoned up than her first photo op with Prince Harry at the Invictus Games. The actress was shamed for wearing ripped jeans. But theirs is a modern royal romance. She’s been married before, so look for them to have a much more low-key wedding than Prince William and Kate Middleton had. Being the “spare” and not the heir allows for that, anyway. The pair have the blessing of Harry’s father, Prince Charles. “We’re thrilled. We’re both thrilled,” he and wife Camilla said in a statement. “We hope they’ll be very happy indeed.” Same for Meghan’s parents, Doria Radlan and Thomas Markle, who split when the actress was a young girl. “We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry,” they said in their own statement. “Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents.” (Photo: Chris Jackson/Getty Images)

Next up? A wedding. So far, all we know is that they’ll tie the knot in the spring. “Further details will be announced in due course.” We can’t wait. (Photo: Chris Jackson/Getty Images)
