She entered our living-rooms as an adorable but abandoned little kid in <em>Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chaand, a</em>nd impressed her viewers and producers alike. It was not very tough for little Hansika to grab more roles in the small screen with makers of milestone shows like <em>Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu</em> <em>thi </em>and <em>Shaka Laka Boom Boom</em> knocking at her door<em>.</em>

But, it was her portrayal of a rape-victim in <em>Jaago </em>that compelled everyone around to look at her in a new light. In a movie starring seasoned actors like Manoj Bajpai and Raveena Tandon, even as a child actor, Hansika came to the fore.

Bollywood took notice of her and next thing we know, she was sharing screen with Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta in Koi Mil Gaya. After a brief hiatus of 3 years, she took to the silver again and we were blown by the unbelievable change in her. It was beyond anyone's understanding how could a child grow into a complete adult in just 3 years. Of course she looked pretty in <em>Aap Kaa Surroor</em> - a little too pretty for the middle-aged Himesh Reshammiya she was paired with. She also bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for essaying 'Ria Bakshi' in the movie.
