Football transfer news and rumours: 'Manchester City prepare for Alexis Sanchez bid as Arsenal face exodus'
Just two days before the summer transfer window closes Arsène Wenger, the Arsenal manager, faces the very real prospect of a mass exodus from the club as a number of big-name players edge towards the big door at the Emirates Stadium marked 'exit'. While we reported last night that Chelsea had agreed a fee of £35 million with Arsenal for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, other outlets have suggested that Liverpool are considering a late bid for the versatile midfielder after Monaco rejected the Merseysiders's latest bid of around £65m for Thomas Lemar. However, it is understood that Wenger would prefer to sell Oxlade-Chamberlain to Chelsea than Liverpool who the Frenchman perceives as direct rivals for a top-four spot. Either way, it would appear that Oxlade-Chamberlain is off. Another player who could be joining Oxlade-Chamberlain in the great Arsenal exodus is Alexis Sánchez who, according to Goal.com, is being targeted by Manchester City who are preparing a bid for the forward. The Chile international has thus far refused to sign a new deal with Arsenal and throughout the summer transfer window has been linked with a move to Manchester and, let's face it, after Sunday's performance at Anfield where Wenger's side were roundly thumped, who could blame the 28-year-old for fancying a new start? Which Premier League deals will happen this summer, which might and which won't? However, if City fail to lure Sánchez north then they may end up signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the Borussia Dortmund striker who, according to Le10Sport, has talked to the Premier League club. The France international has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time now, though this now appear closer than ever after agreeing 'in principle' to an €80m deal to join up with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium. 19 EFL players Premier League clubs could sign John Percy's Transfer Talk West Bromwich Albion are poised to move for Liverpool's Mamadou Sakho if Jonny Evans leaves the Hawathorns, while there is also interest in Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala. Leicester have also made an inquiry for Sakho, the France international, but Liverpool are demanding £30m. Pulis is also targeting Fenerbahce's Josef de Souza and Watford captain Troy Deeney. Tottenham Hotspur are close to signing Estudiantes defender Juan Foyth. Spurs have agreed a deal for the Argentina under-20 international and Mauricio Pochettino expects to make another two signings. Pochettino is also poised to seal the £23m capture of Paris Saint-Germain's Serge Aurier. Swansea have launched an ambitious bid to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches. Paul Clement, the Swansea head coach, is making a serious play for Sanches and hopes to complete a surprise deal despite competition from the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool. Sanches, the Portugal international, has been cleared for a loan move by Carlo Ancelotti after a disappointing debut campaign following his £30m move from Sporting Lisbon. Swansea are also close to signing Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony and hope to sign PSV Eindhoven defender Santiago Arias. Sunderland and Wolves are in a straight fight for Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes, who will be allowed to leave Hillsborough for around £7m. Norwich City are making a £3.5m bid for Bristol City centre-half Aden Flint, after conceding 12 goals in five Championship games under new head coach Daniel Farke. Harry Redknapp is considering a £2m offer for Brentford defender Harlee Dean after signing Chelsea midfielder Jeremie Boga on loan for the season. Hull City are poised to sign Wolves striker Nouha Dicko for £3.5m and are close to agreeing a fee with Burton for Jackson Irvine.
