    Time:80'
    • Australia
    • Wales
    • FT The hooter goes and Genia picks up the ball and thumps it into touch. Australia complete the series whitewash and that is yet another heart-breaking defeat for Wales
    • 80' Ten seconds remaining with Australia in possession in the Welsh half ...
    • 78' Wales turn the ball over and substitute Hook kicks upfield. He sets off in chase and if the ball stays in play it'll be a certain try. Barnes is chasing for Australia but he has nothing left in his legs ... But the ball dribbles out before Hook can get there and Australia escape
    • 77' Wales look to break through Halfpenny but Australia do great work at the breakdown and Genia emerges with the ball ... Australia's turn now to break through Ioane on the left wing ,,,
    • 75' PENALTY AUSTRALIA! 20-19! Australia take the line-out well and Wales are almost immediately caught offside after the ball goes to ground. Barnes puts his kick just inside the right upright and the Wallabies lead by one again with five minutes remaining
    • 73' Ouch! Wales are penalised and then give Joubert some back-chat and are marched 10m back and Barnes puts up a great kick for territory. Australia throw-in in the Welsh half ...
    • 72' Beale collects the high ball but then steps backward before setting off and he puts his foot in touch. He really has been poor today and it will be a Welsh throw in Australian territory ...
    • 71' PENALTY WALES! 17-19! Halfpenny just narrowly threads the ball inside the right post from in front of the sticks and Wales have the narrow lead once again. Gah! This is tense stuff now ...
    • 70' Yet again Australia are penalised as the scrum collapses and this is very much in Halfpenny's kickable range ...
    • 67' Barnes can't land the conversion this time, missing from out wide on the right wing and Australia will have to settle for just the one point lead with 13 minutes remaining. It's going to be another incredibly close finish
    • 66' TRY AUSTRALIA! 17-16! Australia work the ball right across the field before Rob Horne, with Beale outside him, touches down for the Wallabies. Or does he? It'll go to the TMO and video replays show the centre just, just held on to the ball. Or rather it stuck between his elbow and thigh as he went down and that is close enough to say he had control
    • 66' Dennis for Australia on the left wing, he gets to within a couple of metres ... great work from Pocock to keep things alive as Dennis goes down ...
    • 65' Berrick Barnes breaks ... he finds Genia and it's three on three for Australia ... but they loose the ball forward ... Wales kick upfield ...
    • 64' CONVERSION WALES! 12-16! Easy for Halfpenny as he converts from right in front of the sticks. Wales lead in Melbourne last week, remember. Can they hold on this time?
    • 63' TRY WALES! 12-14! Phillips gets inside the five metre line before popping the ball up for Cuthbert. Cuthbert is stopped just short but Ryan Jones is there and touches down right next to the left upright. Wales have the lead!
    • 61' Priestland finds Beck with two more red shirts outside him for the overlap but the Welshman, making just his second start in the red jersey opts to go inside and runs into traffic ...
    • 59' Wales earn themselves a penalty just five minutes out after Australia are penalised for pulling down the scrum on the tighthead side. Wales opt for another scrum ...
    • 57' North finds Cuthbert ... he kicks upfield for Tipuric to chase ... it's a straight foot-race between Tipuric and Ioane and it's the Australian who just wins, tapping down behind his own try-line. End-to-end stuff for a change!
    • 56' Timani finds Beale with a lovely offload ... Beale dinks over the top of Halfpenny before hitting the deck (was he taken out or did he just run into the full-back? Debatable). North collects and breaks ...
    • 54' That scrum took seven minutes to fail as Australia are penalised for wheeling it round. Halfpenny kicks for the posts from the half-way line and that is his first miss of the series as the ball goes wide and Australia break
    • 50' There's been a huge amount of time wasting at the scrum today, something ref Joubert seems happy to let slide, as another three minutes tick by on the half-way line
    • 46' Beale is upended by Bradley Davies, after another shocking pass by the full-back. Wales have the loose ball and kick upfield but Barnes gets back by his own try-line and kicks his clearance before being cleaned out off the ball by Tipuric
    • 45' Genia turns the ball over for Australia ... he takes it back to the half-way line ... Fainga'a to Ashley-Cooper, who does brilliantly well to take a tricky pass ... but Phillips and Jonathan Davies are back for Wales
    • 42' Beale breaks for Wales and he has Ioane free on his outside ... all they need is a good pass for Ioane to be away ... but Beale puts in a shocking pass, behind Ioane and the move breaks down
    • 41' Wales get the second half underway as this clash is poised for a barn-storming second half ...
    • HT So a scrappy half from both sides with Australia just edging ahead thanks to four kickable penalties compared to three. 12-9 to Australia at the interval
    • 40+1 Phillips finds Priestland for the attepmted drop goal but it's an absolutely shocking attempt, the ball was never, never near the sticks at all and Genia collects the ball and taps down on the try-line to put at end to the half.
    • 40' The hooter goes with Wales in possession on the Australian 22 ...
    • 39' PENALTY AUSTRALIA! 12-9! That's the eighth penalty Wales have conceded in this half, the fourth in their own half, and that's the fourth penalty Barnes has successfully kicked. Go figure. Australia take the lead with one minute remaining until the interval
    • 38' Great hands from Barnes as he picks up a low, poor pass and then dummies before breaking five metres through the line and Mike Phillips is caught offside giving hte hosts the chance to kick themselves into the lead again ...
    • 35' Pat McCabe has had to go off temporarily for a blood injury, the claret pouring from his nose
    • 32' Digby Ioane gets his first real chance to run at Wales as the tourists do just enough to trip him up, and stop what would have been a certain try had he got through, before Bradley Davies turns the ball over
    • 30' Not entirely sure what the problem is but talismanic skipper Sam Warburton is gingerly making his way back to the touch-line. That's a big blow for Wales
    • 29' But the move breaks down when Kepu fails to release the ball on the five metre line and Wales escape. That was a simple error and unneccesary for Australia, there was no need to hold on to that ball as Kepu had plenty of support
    • 28' Australia threatening now ... Barnes finds Horne on the angle, Genia makes five metres as he darts through the first line of defence ... Adam Ashley-Cooper ... Barnes almost finds a way through ... Australia just over five metres out
    • 26' Absolutely criminal from Wales on the re-start again as they fail to collect that ball allowing Rob Horne a chance to pick up the loose ball and run at the Welsh defence. Wales have been shocking under the high ball so far today, that one wasn't even close to being caught by Alun-Wyn Jones, it just went straight through his hands
    • 25' PENALTY WALES! 9-9! Another solid kick from Halfpenny, who was tweeting during the week that he had gone to the Lady Gaga concert in Sydney but had forgotten his contact lens and so could not see anything!
    • 24' Wales, playing advantage, get to within five metres of the line through Priestland, Halfpenny, and then Alex Cuthbert. They will come back for the penalty though, Polota- Nau the one to give that away for failing to roll away from the tackle ...
    • 22' Jonathan Davies breaks for Wales and skips through a number of tackles before eventually Pocock brings him down and yet again wins the penalty when Davies is caught holding on to the ball
    • 21' Australia take the penalty quickly and Genia races away with it, running the ball back to the half-way line before recycling to Horne and then Palu ... but Wales turn the ball over ...
    • 20' Much better again from Wales as first Alun-Wyn Jones and then Jonathan Davies take the ball on and get to the five metre line but Pocock wins the penalty by staying on his feet
    • 18' Better from the re-start for Wales but Jonathan Davies is caught offside as Palu looks to run the ball out of his own half and Australia are handed the penalty that allows them to kick for territory instead. The penalty count is racking up already from both sides
    • 17' PENALTY AUSTRALIA! 9-6! Under pressure ever since that failed take on the re-start, Wales eventually give away another kickable penalty (for failing to roll away) and the right boot of Barnes makes them pay for it. Australia take the lead once more
    • 15' Yet another error from the re-start from Wales as Alun-Wyn Jones fails to collect the ball cleaning. And it gives Kurtley Beale his first chance to run at the Welsh defensive line
    • 14' PENALTY WALES! 6-6! Epic kicking from Halfpenny as he lands his 12th successful kick, admittedly from right in front of the posts but nonetheless from the half-way line. We're back level again
    • 13' Really scrappy from both sides. First the Wales are awarded the put in for the second attempt at the scrum as Australia are penalised for early engagement, then the decision is reversed as Wales collapse the scrum and then finally Wales are awarded the penalty when Polota-Nau is caught collapsing the scrum
    • 10' These penalties are going to cost Wales as the re-start is a shambles, the ball failing to go the required distance and Australia being handed the scrum on the half-way line.
    • 9' PENALTY AUSTRALIA! 6-3! Ouch! Wales fail to cleanly take the re-start and are immediately penalised for failing to release the ball and Barnes adds another three easy points to re-establish their lead
    • 8' PENALTY WALES! 3-3! Halfpenny, who appears to be recovering from that early knock, lands his 11th successful kick across the last three matches, drilling the ball right through the centre of the posts from out in front
    • 7' Wales get the penalty at the breakdown after Mortlock is charged for coming in from the side and the visitors will have a quick chance to level the scores
    • 4' PENALTY AUSTRALIA! 3-0! Easy for Barnes from right in front of the posts as he hands the hosts the early lead. No boos from the crowd this time as the local picks up where he left off last week with his metronomic kicking
    • 3' Barnes attempts a drop-goal attempt, Australia playing advanatge after a Welsh player is caught offside, but he pulls the ball wide too boos from the crowd (odd) and they will come back for the penalty
    • 2' Barnes has spotted the injury to Halfpenny and puts a kick in deep to test the Wales full-back. Halfpenney deals with it but he's still in a lot of trouble and basically picks up the ball one-handed before only managing to clear to the 22
    • 2' Leigh Halfpenny, who hasn't missed a kick so far on this tour, has gone down after an awkward collision with Timani. Nothing deliberate about that but Timani just caught Halfpenny after trying to charge down the kick. The Australia full-back is clutching his shoulder and looks to be in some discomfort
    • 1' Australia get the clash underway through the boot of Berrick Barnes ...
    • - The teams are out on to the pitch in glorious sunshine and blue skies in Sydney for this afternoon match. Craig Joubert the referee, by the way. Just the national anthems to go now before kick-off ...
