  1. 15:37 - So that wraps up Soderling's first Masters win and also, more importantly, moves him up to world number four ahead of Andy Murray

  2. 6-7 - MATCH! Only one match point is needed though as Soderling works his way into the net before guiding an easy forehand volley across court and away from Monfils, who is stranded on the baseline

  3. TB1-6 - Another quick service point from Soderling sees him set up five match points ...

  4. TB1-5 - Soderling has a forehand called long of the baseline but he challenges and is proven correct as the ball is shown to have caught the back of the line. And, as Monfils was no-where near it, the Swede is handed the point and takes a 5-1 lead into the change of ends

  5. 6-6 - Sure enough, it will be a tie-break that decides this second set, and possibly even the match, as Soderling once again is untroubled on a service hold and seals it when Monfils goes for a off-forehand cross court winner but misses

  6. 6-5 - Soderling will have to do it all again as Monfils leaves himsefl within one game of the second set again by flinging himself around the court and finding a backhand winner from close to the net. Can the Swede hold and force the tie-break?

  7. 5-5 - Easily the longest rally of the match ends in a defensive error from Monfils when he attempts to chip a lob over Soderling's head and instead sends the ball long as the Frenchman posts another love service hold (with a inside out, cross court forehand winner) to bring things back to all-square

  8. 5-4 - Monfils drops the first point of the game when he fires a forehand into the top of the tape on the net but it is just a temporary blip from the Frenchman as he goes on to hold (when Soderling this time hits into the net) and leave his opponent serving to stay in the second set after the change of ends

  9. 4-4 - Monfils keeps getting close to making something happen as he forces Soderling into an error down the line. But the Swede continues to stop short of giving his opponent anything too much to get excited about as finds a first serve which Monfils returns long

  10. 4-3 - Monfils gets himself out of a spot of bother at 30-30 with a forehand winner, despite being made to replay the point after an over-ruled call and unsuccessful hawkeye challenge, and the Frenchman holds again when Soderling sends a tame backhand into the net

  11. 3-3 - Despite three double faults and a first serve percentage of just 54, Soderilng has looked basically unchallenge so far and holds to put all the pressure back on Monfils once again

  12. 3-2 - Monfils is finding his rhythm much more easily in this set and has already fired four aces down over the net compared to just two in the first set, as he races through another service hold to sneak ahead

  13. 2-2 - Soderling looks calm and confident though as he eases through another love service hold to level up once again. There are a few more outward signs now of frustration from Monfils as he sends three straight returns long

  14. 2-1 - Monfils is trying to get something going here as he holds once again to 15, with another length first serve that Soderling sends wide across court off the backhand wing

  15. 1-1 - A double fault to open from Soderling gives Monfils an extra boost and, although the Swede does level up, the Frenchman goes on grab a break point when Soderling hits long. But Monfils mis-hits a backhand return wide acorss court and Soderling goes on to hold with another couple of very solid serves that the Frenchman cannot return in play; one going long and the other landing in the net

  16. 1-0 - Better from Monfils as he holds for the opening game of the second set, producing a solid first serve that Soderling can only return well long. The Frenchman is bouncing around on his toes again as he looks to get the crowd going once again

  17. 1-6 - SET! Soderling gets himself out of a potential spot of bother at 15-30 with a backhand volley guided across court before earning himself a first set point when Monfils fails to get his forehand return over the net. And one set point is all that's needed with another ball ending up in the net from the Frenchman

  18. 1-5 - BREAK! Wow, Soderling is on fire. He bends down low to a backhand before whipping it across court for a winner to seal a second break and leave himself serving for the first set after just 23 minutes

  19. 1-4 - The crowd try to get Monfils going as he finds himself 15-30 up when Soderling drops a forehand into the net. But teh Swede bounces back immediately and goes on to hold without facing a break point when the Frenchman drills his backhand return long

  20. 1-3 - BREAK! The first signs of weakness from Monfils as his attempted backhand drop shot falls short into the net to allow Soderling a 0-30 lead. And it quickly becomes three break points when a forehand goes into the net. Some serveand volley, and a backhand winner, saves the first. And he tries to do the same on the second but a shockingly over-hit forehand volley across court goes wide to hand Soderling first blood in this clash

  21. 1-2 - It's been a pretty cagey opening few games from both players but Monfils is the first to take things on, stepping up to a backhand and firing it down the line for a winner. That gives him the first point of the game but once again Soderling bounces back to hold without the loss of a further point and a third ace

  22. 1-1 - Monfils also drops just the one point as he eases to an opening service hold, sealing the game with his frist ease of the afternoon

  23. 0-1 - The crowd are into this clash right from the very start as Soderling dinks a forehand drop shot just over the net to test Monfils, who easily gets up to the ball and fires across the court for a winner. But the Swede goes on to hold wthout the loss of another point; Monfils slapping a backhand long after a baseline exchange

  24. 0-0 - The players are ready to go and it will be Soderling to get the clash underway by serving first ...

  25. 14:16 - These two have met each other twice before with Soderling winning both of their previous meetings, both in straight sets. Monfils has been playing very well though and has the partizan crowd behind him

  26. 14:02 - Hello and welcome to LIVE coverage from the final of the Paris Masters where Robin Soderling takes on home hope Gael Monfils
