these sand sculptures are taking over Al Saraya public beach

13 artists and students took part in the inaugural Alexandria Sand Sculpture Festival

aimed at promoting local tourism

"It is really nice, it's a new experience, I am very happy, it is the first time that I created such a large sculpture, but it's not my first time working with sand. I used to do so in Matrouh, but on a smaller scale. I am very happy that I am taking part in the [festival]."
