High-Speed Camera Captures Lightning Splintering Across Sky in Fort Wayne, Indiana
A storm system pushed across northern Indiana on Sunday evening, May 15, producing lightning and intense winds.
High-speed video recorded by videographer Bryce Fritzel shows a lightning strike spidering across the night sky in northern Fort Wayne.
Fritzel told Storyful he was using Phantom high-speed camera to record the lightning event at 6,000 frames per second.
“[The] video playback that is over 250 times slower than you see with your eyes,” Fritzel said.
The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement, warning of pea-sized hail and winds of up to 40 miles per hour in the region. Credit: Bryce Fritzel via Storyful
