I don't pretend to be an insider or expert, but if there's one player in all of Europe I would do, because I follow Napoli and favor him probably a little more than any man should.. Hate to burst any bubbles, it would hurt me more than anyone if true, but he's definitely not leaving Napoli this January and I'd say more than 50% unlikely in the summer.
If he does, he will probably cost somewhere near the amount that Cristina Ronaldo, at least 10-15 more than Torres. The owner of Napoli was at one point quoted as saying it would take 100M to buy him, now of course, money talks, so figure between 60-70M, and while FSG could fund it, and I'd jump like a kid on Xmas day, we're further away than just him, and in that realm of money, you're looking at the Chelski's, Fail Madrid's, Citeh's of the world..
It would probably take Suarez, Coates, ALOT of money and a few major miracles. Any rumors of him for anything less than 40M and Suarez the other way, is not worth your time reading..
He is, in my opinion, the best striker in Europe, probably the world... SIGH..
Another top post Jason.
I hear its looking more and more likely we will land David Texeira, another uruguayan, he possibley ticks more of the boxes with being younger whicj I can see as being good aswell as bad as we need a goal machine ready to hall ass and score but I think the main benefit will be the uruguay link with super star Suarez at least I hope.....
Grobalaar said we were looking at signing two strikers.....
We can but hope!!!!

According to almost everything worth reading including Ovacion, the Uruguayan Newspaper, they are reporting the deal is as good as done for David Texeira for 9M. Whether it's 100% true or not, who knows, but based on the fact it's not all over the LFC site in transfer watch with other ridiculous names like, Ozil, Bent, Granero, Higuain, Cavani yada yada.. I feel it could happen, and fits a nice profile of a young South American, who's blossomed very quickly within the Uruguayan setup like Coates, as well in the Eredivise.
He was born in the same town as Cavani and Suarez, and Suarez started at the same club before moving to Ajax. So far has 9 goals in 15 matches, which I think has far exceeded anyone's expectations and if he continues to develop, 8-9M will be a steal. He's just shy of 6 feet, and stocky, but quick, more of a finisher, not creator, so comparisons to Suarez are wide of the mark, I suppose physically he's more like Torres (ironically that's his surname), and he's got good aerial presence and heading ability in the box, unlike our 6'4 #9
I've seen him play on tv once, his last match where he scored and was named MOM, based on what I read and how well the Uruguayan players are doing, has me excited should it be..
Here's a very good video of David, who IF joins, I hope and think will become our version of Chicarito, lighting in a bottle if you will... Focus on how he kicks and heads the ball into the back of the net, not everywhere but..
