Hornets say F/C Kai Jones will not participate in training camp due to 'personal reasons'
The Charlotte Hornets announced Saturday that 2021 first-round draft pick Kai Jones will not participate in training camp due to personal reasons. “There is not currently a timetable for his return to the team,” the Hornets said in a statement. “Out of respect for the personal nature of the situation, the Hornets will not have any additional public comments regarding the matter at this time.”

Smith Jr. is a shifty guard who slipped a little bit due to his inconsistent year at Arkansas. He'll need a little time to adjust and develop his game at the next level but during the predraft process he showed an improved outside jumper and a much better motor. If he starts hitting the floater in the lane like he showed glimpses of at Arkansas, Smith Jr. could end up being a cross between Immanuel Quickley and Tyrese Maxey.
