Liverpool will make a move for Fulham's 16-year-old defender Ryan Sessegnon in the summer to give competition to James Milner at left-back. The Liverpool Echo says Reds manager Jurgen Klopp will offload Spaniard Alberto Moreno in the summer, with Sessegnon his preferred replacement. Liverpool scouts are reported to have watched the 16-year-old, who has scored five goals in 24 Championship appearances for Fulham this season, in action several times over the past few months.
And the Liverpool Echo claim Klopp is keen to get a deal done before the teenager turns 17. Sessegnon will be eligible to sign a professional contract after his next birthday on May 18. The Fulham star pre-agreed a deal with Fulham prior to this season and is expected to be signed on July 1. But Liverpool hope to avoid paying over the odds for Sessegnon and want a deal agreed before the start of the transfer window.
Ryan Sessegnon dropped a cheeky hint for Liverpool fans today amid rumours of a huge summer transfer. The Fulham wonderkid has caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp and used fellow young gun Ben Woodburn to spark more speculation over his future. Liverpool are on the lookout for a new left back with Alberto Moreno serving as the only dedicated backup behind natural midfielder James Milner.
