Gamel hit his eighth home run in the fourth inning to erase the Reds' early lead in the fourth. Hayes singled to score Hoy Park, and Cole Tucker sent Hayes home with a single.

    Josh Rogers allows 1 run to lead Nationals over Marlins 7-1

    Josh Rogers pitched 7 2/3 innings of one-run ball and the Washington Nationals beat the Miami Marlins 7-1 Tuesday night. “I hope they like me as much as I like them because I’m having a good ole time with all the guys here,” Rogers said of his three weeks with the Nationals. Juan Soto and rookie Keibert Ruiz had two hits and an RBI each for the Nationals (62-89), who closed within two games of Miami (64-87) for fourth in the NL East.

    Marlins' Chisholm HRs twice, scores on wild pitch in 10th

    Jazz Chisholm Jr. homered twice before scoring from third on a wild pitch in the 10th inning and the Miami Marlins beat the Washington Nationals 8-7 Monday night. After Dylan Floro (6-6) pitched a scoreless top of the 10th, Chisholm took his place at second to start the bottom of the inning as Miami’s automatic runner. Washington reliever Sam Clay (0-5) intentionally walked Jesús Sánchez to face Lewis Brinson.
