With the January transfer window now in the rear-view mirror, many a club will be turning their attention to the contract situations of their players in a bid to avoid any slipping through the net and preparing to leave on free transfers.

A whole host of Championship players see their contracts expire in 2025, and Coventry City are not the only second-tier club with a number in the final year of their contracts.

Some managers may be happy to let certain individuals run down their deals and move on next summer, thus freeing up wages to freshen things up in those outgoing positions. Others, meanwhile, will be valued assets that the club will do what they can to extend their stay with renewed contracts.

Up and down the division, plenty of players see their deals expire in the summer of 2025 - as things stand. At Coventry, just two seniors – midfielder Jamie Allen and goalkeeper Ben Wilson – are on the list, while development stopper Cian Tyler also faces an uncertain future at the CBS Arena.
