15 players set to miss Tottenham vs Wolves after Matheus Cunha suspension update
Tottenham are not the only Premier League club dealing with numerous injuries as Sunday's opponents Wolves also have several stars unavailable. Ange Postecoglou's list of absentees has been in the double figures for some time and there is no immediate indication of any returns.
Radu Dragusin is the latest Spurs star to have picked up an injury with an ankle issue seeing him subbed off in the 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest. As Postecoglou looked set for a tense wait on the Romanian, Ben Davies was in line to make a return from the hamstring problem that has kept him out since early December.
However, the Tottenham boss revealed that will not be happening against Wolves. "Unfortunately, he had a setback in training, so he's probably out for another couple of weeks," he said in a press conference. Postecoglou was able to offer positive updates on Richarlison and Mikey Moore however, despite the fact both will remain out.

"Yeah, him [Moore] and Richy in the final phases," he said. "Next week they can start training. We've got a bit of a gap before the Newcastle game. The plan is Mikey and Richy come back into first-team training next week." Elsewhere, Guglielmo Vicario and Wilson Odobert are long-term absentees, while Djed Spence is suspended.
The final two names on Tottenham's injury list are Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero. The defensive duo returned against Chelsea but picked up fresh issues in that defeat and are expected to return in January, though no exact date has been provided with both plagued by injury in the last 12 months.
Four centre-backs being absent could see Wolves take full advantage and continue their improvement in recent weeks under new head coach Vitor Pereira. Matheus Cunha has been extremely key to that despite being charged by the FA for violent misconduct after the defeat to Ipswich on Saturday, December 14.
No suspension outcome has emerged since then and thus he remains available to play for Wolves with it unlikely an announcement is made before the game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Despite that, six players could still be absent for the visitors.
Yerson Mosquera, who played the opening few games of the season, and Enso Gonzalez are both unlikely to play again this season because of serious knee injuries. Sasa Kalajdzic and Boubacar Traore have each missed the last few months and though returns for both are expected soon, they will not feature against Spurs.
In terms of slight doubts, Pablo Sarabia has missed the last few weeks with a minor calf injury. Though the likelihood is that he returns in early 2025, it is possible he features on the bench this weekend. Mario Lemina is the final Wolves star that may miss out after not featuring against Manchester United.
The experienced midfielder, who was stripped of the captain's armband following his outburst against West Ham, has filled in at centre-back due to injury problems and thus is a player Pereira will want to have available for selection.
