16 players that could miss Tottenham vs Man United after huge new injury blow confirmed
Manchester United and Tottenham are both seemingly at opposite ends of an injury crisis ahead of their Premier League clash on Sunday. Ange Postecoglou has been plagued by several key absences over the last few months but three players appear in line to return this weekend.
"Some of the lads who have been out for quite a while look like they’re in a good place now," Postecoglou told Tottenham's official website earlier this week. "Vic [Guglielmo Vicario] is probably the one who has come back ahead of schedule. He’s been training really well away from the team for two weeks.
"In the last 10 days he’s integrated back into the team and is fully into training, so he’s in a good place and that means he becomes available for us.” "Madders [James Maddison] is a little bit ahead of schedule (in his recovery). He’s feeling really good. He’s had a good week of training.

"We were thinking maybe (it'll be) next week for him, but he’s trained really well all week, and he’s had the least amount of time out, so he’s looking in a good place. "Destiny is back in team training as well, which is good. He’s ticked all the boxes in terms of getting through his rehab and conditioning, so he’s part of the squad."
Though a triple return could arrive, eight players remain out with Radu Dragusin ruled out for the season after damaging his ACL. Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner and Wilson Odobert have all been out training at Hotspur Way but are unlikely to return against United.
Richarlison and Dominic Solanke, both of Tottenham's strikers, are a few weeks away from featuring while care is being taken over reintegrating Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero back into the fold. Postecoglou has recently admitted he hopes both will be back when Spurs European campaign resumed in mid-March.
As for Ruben Amorim, he will definitely be without Mason Mount, Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw after the latter suffered another injury setback. Altay Bayindir and Jonny Evans are also dealing with issues that have kept them out of action for the last few weeks.
In the days leading up to the game, United looked to have a mostly fit squad but as of Saturday evening, a further four players could be absent. According to the Athletic, Kobbie Mainoo has picked up an injury which will keep him out for a few weeks while Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer are also doubts.
The major blow surrounds United talisman Amad with the player himself confirming on Instagram that he has suffered an injury. "Extremely disappointed to be writing this message in such a crucial time of the season," he wrote on Instagram. "Unfortunately, I will be out for some time with an injury.
"I will come back stronger than ever!! Time to support the boys from the outside. Still loads to play for." While both Ugarte and Collyer may yet feature at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, up to 16 players, eight from both teams, could be on the sidelines due to injury.
