Eduard Spertsyan has revealed he would be open to a summer move to Leeds United. The Armenian international, valued at around £17 million by Krasnodar, was said to be a player of interest to the Whites in the final days of the winter transfer window.

Championship leaders United have failed to bring in a new No 10 since Georginio Rutter's departure to Brighton and Hove Albion last August. USA international Brenden Aaronson has largely been deployed in the attacking midfield role but continues to divide opinion among the fan-base.

Whites manager Daniel Farke is well aware of Spertsyan's capabilities, having worked with the 24-year-old during his spell in charge of Krasnodar back in 2022. A two-time Russian Premier League Midfielder of the Year, Spertsyan has contributed six goals in 25 matches this term in Krasnodar's push for a first-ever title.

Speaking to Russian outlet Championat, Spertsyan said he never discussed a potential switch to United with Farke last month. But when asked if he would consider a move to the West Yorkshire outfit later down the line, Spertsyan replied: “Why not? They will most likely get into the Premier League, they are in first place.

“Yes, I want to leave, but I can’t leave the club [in the winter]. For them to let me go in the winter, the offer must be very good, and the club must have a great desire to sign me. This winter, that’s exactly what didn’t happen.”

Spertsyan also confirmed past interest from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Ajax, Girona, and Lens. “My agent was in Paris and had some discussions with PSG, but that was it,” he said. “Juventus were interested. Girona made an offer last summer, and I was ready to go to Lens too, but Krasnodar wanted more than they were willing to pay.”
