More than a quarter of a million fans have signed a petition demanding the World Cup last-16 match between England and Colombia to be replayed.

Colombian fans are not taking their World Cup exit at all well, it would seem, with the ambitious South Americans wanting FIFA to review two key decisions in Tuesday’s defeat to England.

Colombia were beaten 4-3 on penalties and it has racked up more than 275,000 signatures already.

They will no doubt be hoping a decision is made soon and that their players return to Russia from their holidays – Gareth Southgate’s side face Sweden on Saturday.

Their complaints centre around two big decisions. The first being the penalty given to Harry Kane that apparently should have been a foul against the Spurs man.

The second call which reportedly annoyed the Colombians was the disallowed Carlos Bacca goal.

They are demanding FIFA ‘sets a precedent for fair play, where good play prevails’ and the game is replayed.

England defender John Stones perhaps didn’t help their campaign when he described their heroes as ‘the dirtiest team’ he has ever faced.

“There could have been several red cards,” the 24-year-old Manchester City man said.

“They were surrounding the referee, even pushing the referee. There was the headbutt [on Jordan Henderson] that I’m sure you’ve all seen. They were scuffing the penalty spot while Harry Kane was waiting to take his penalty.

“There was also a lot of off-the-ball stuff that I’m sure you’ve not heard about – all the sort of things that you don’t really hear in a football match.”
