The 2024 Paris Olympic Games will commence with the historic Opening Ceremony, where 300,000 fans in Paris and millions worldwide will witness over 10,500 athletes floating down the Seine River, a symbol of Parisian culture and history, for the first time at the Summer Games.

First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, will lead Team USA alongside the U.S. ambassador to France, Denis Campbell Bauer, as well as other dignitaries. NBA star LeBron James is joined by U.S. Open tennis champion Coco Gauff, who will make history as the youngest flag bearer and was chosen to carry the American flag throughout the Opening Ceremony.

The Opening Ceremony includes the Parade of Nations, a tradition where athletes from each participating country march in a procession, showcasing their national pride and unity. The ceremony will conclude in front of Trocadéro, where the ceremonial lighting of the Olympic torch will take place.

NBC, the official broadcaster for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games has allotted four hours for live coverage from 1:30 p.m. ET to 5:30 p.m. ET.
