The 2025 WNBA Free Agency period is already rocking and rolling.

On January 11, teams make qualifying offers to players and give others a core designation. On January 21, teams begin negotiating with free agents, and deals are officially signed on February 1.

The early parts of free agency were largely status quo until Dallas Wings forward Satou Sabally revealed that she had played her last game with Dallas. The news sent shockwaves through hoops, changing the free agency landscape and leaving questions about possibilities for her next destination.

As rumors turn to confirmations, here are the top WNBA free agency moves thus far:

Satou Sabally, Dallas Wings

Background: Satou Sabally and the Dallas Wings understand that her time in Dallas has ended. The two sides will work together to find Sabally a new home and help the Wings recoup some value from their franchise player moving on.

What position do they play: Forward

What kind of deal did they get: Cored/TBD

Kelsey Plum, Las Vegas Aces

Background: The Las Vegas Aces roster will undergo critical change after failing to win another championship. The mastermind behind much of Las Vegas' sensational back-to-back titles run (general manager Natalie Williams) is out.

With her departure, many key pieces, including Kelsey Plum, might not stay. It's unclear if Plum has played her last games in Las Vegas, but either way, the Aces have cored her. If she walks, they'll likely look to do a sign-and-trade.

What kind of deal did they get: Cored/TBD

Breanna Stewart, New York Liberty

Background: Breanna Stewart just won a championship with the New York Liberty. She isn't going anywhere. It would be ludicrous for her to move on. Stewie also previously mentioned that she'd sign one-year deals for the foreseeable future until the new CBA is in place.

What position do they play: Forward

What kind of deal did they get: Cored/TBD

Gabby Williams, Seattle Storm

Background: Here's a move we didn't see coming: Gabby Williams is (potentially) staying in the W with Seattle. Per Kevin Pelton and Alexa Philippou of ESPN, Seattle used the core designation on Williams.

The move is notable, considering she reportedly mentioned when speaking with teams last year (before signing with the Storm) that she did not want to be cored. Also, using a core designation on Williams makes the Jewell Loyd trade talks that much more intriguing.

Dana Evans, Chicago Sky

Background: Transparently, seeing Dana Evans stay in Chicago would be stunning. Evans found herself on the bench as the season went on due to up-and-down production and an apparent lack of on-court chemistry with the Sky's bigs.

Maybe new head coach Tyler Marsh can fix Evans' woes with the team, but the expectation should be that she'll wear a new jersey next season.
