The 32: Andrew Cole on why Ronaldo will always outshine Messi at World Cups
Andrew Cole pinpointed on ‘The 32’ why Cristiano Ronaldo has shone for Portugal, yet Lionel Messi has gone missing for Argentina.
Cole, speaking as a guest on Yahoo’s latest daily World Cup show, was discussing the Argentine’s humiliating defeat to Croatia and Messi’s struggles out in Russia.
That is a stark contrast to Ronaldo, who has scored all four of Portugal’s goals as they set themselves up to progress through the group stages and Cole believes he knows why.
“If you look at Ronaldo and Portugal, he is the best player by far. but they play as a team,” Cole explained.
“If you look at Argentina and Messi, he is the best player by far, but they’re unorganised and they’ve been like that for a few years.

“They’ve got some fantastic players but for some reason they are not gelling.
