Tore Andre Flo has told ‘The 32’ that moving to London frightened the life out of him at first – but now he couldn’t imagine life outside the city.

Flo, a guest of Yahoo Sport’s daily World Cup show on Saturday, opened up about life after signing for Chelsea more than 20 years ago and says one of the stars he is now looking after is starting to really show his class.

The former striker move to Stamford Bridge in 1997 from after leaving Norway for the first time.

He now looks after the Premier League club’s on-loan players and has been keeping a close eye on the progress of England’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who has spent the season with Crystal Palace.

He said: “I came from a very, very little village in the Norwegian fjords called Stryn. It has a population of around 2,500 people in it.

“So when I loved to London you could imagine the difference – like the traffic!

“It was really scary, but I am still living here more than 20 years later. It’s my home now.”

Flo is loving his role at Chelsea, keeping tabs on their on-loan players and reporting back their progress.

“Yes, there a quite a few of them!” he joked. “But I’m enjoying it. Ruben is doing well for England of course so that’s great. He has a big future.

“I like the look of England and I think there’s a chance of them getting to the final. It’s going to be difficult, but there have been bigger surprises than that – they are playing quite well.

“I think the manager was right to make the changes. It wasn’t the best of games, but they got other players involved.”
