With just under two days left of the transfer window, Man City are trying to get their ducks in a row ahead of attacking the second half of the season.

A fifth successive Premier League title may well be out of reach but qualification for next season's Champions League, as well as success in this season's competition and the FA Cup, are still realistic aims for Pep Guardiola's side.

With that in mind, City have already started to rebuild their squad in the January transfer window with three major additions. Defenders Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis have joined from Lens and Palmeiras respectively, while forward Omar Marmoush has also arrived in a £59million transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt.

But City are still in the market for a new midfielder, while there could be some outgoings at the Etihad Stadium before Monday's 11pm deadline.

Here's a look at the latest City transfer stories.

Midfield chase

If City are to make any more signings in this window it will be in the midfield department. Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz has been linked with a loan move, while Porto midfielder Nico Gonzalez has been linked with a £50million move. Both situations are ones to monitor closely.

£4m exit close

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, City are close to selling teenage midfielder Jacob Wright to Swansea City in a £4million package.

The Swans' Championship rivals Middlesbrough were also said to be interested but Wright looks set to move to South Wales in the latest sale from City's impressive football academy.

Wright has made four appearances for City's first team across the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Champions League but the defensive midfielder failed to make a significant breakthrough into Guardiola's plans.

Loan agreement in place

Another departure which is close, according to Romano, is the loan exit of 20-year-old forward Will Dickson. The 20-year-old has impressed in City's under-18s and under-21s sides and he looks set to join Scottish Premiership side Motherwell in his first taste of senior football.
