7 big SPFL transfer headlines you need to know about as Celtic eye 3, Hearts want winger and Liverpool decide on Doak
Things are moving fast at Celtic who are hoping to land a striker by tonight's deadline – but it will almost certainly have to be a loan deal rather than a permanent transfer.
The Hoops are on the hunt for a replacement for Kyogo after Brendan Rodgers admitted on Sunday he still hopes to get something done before the deadline. But he also admitted it's more likely to be a loan, like the one that brought Adam Idah to the club initially this time a year ago.
He said: "I would think (it will be a loan). To get the one that we would want for that longer term, if it's not there, then I don't want to just bring in anyone just for the sake of it. I'll always look from within. My feeling was always once Kyogo was gone, was to have someone else to come in. So that's the plan. And hopefully that can be the case, and we execute that."

There could be movement with Motherwell's Lennon Miller with Celtic seemingly at the front of the queue for the Scotland youth cap, although it emerged last night the Hoops were considering a late window move for the 18-year-old and he was in the stands at Fir Park yesterday as the Hoops picked up a win in North Lanarkshire. It's understood the Hoops may yet swoop to bring him in before the deadline although the clock is ticking. A left-back is also thought to be on the agenda at Parkhead before the deadline if a move for Kieran Tierney cannot be fast-tracked.
At Hearts, Neil Critchley could yet add another before tonight’s deadline with another winger on his wanted list. Kilmarnock’s Danny Armstrong and Kazakhstan international Islam Chesnokov are both on the radar.
A new striker is the name of the game at Aberdeen where Palestinian forward Oday Dabbagh is on his way. The Dons look set to tie up a deal for the 26-year-old Palestine international striker on loan from Belgian side Charleroi. He's been likened to Mario Mandzukic and will add to Jimmy Thelin's forward line.
Philippe Clement is still hopeful of a signing or two at Rangers but the big news at Ibrox as things stand is who won't be leaving. Ridvan Yilmaz is staying put despite being linked with a return home to rejoin former club Besiktas. Record Sport has been in touch with the player's representatives, who made clear Yilmaz is happy in Glasgow.
Meanwhile Evan Ferguson , previously linked with the Hoops, has sealed his loan move to West Ham from Brighton. And it's believed Liverpool aren't considering any movement where Ben Doak is concerned after an impressive loan spell at Middlesbrough. Ipswich and Crystal Palace had hoped to convince them to recall him and sell up this month, but that won't be happening with Arne Slot happy with his development under Michael Carrick. Doak has scored three and assisted seven in 24 Championship appearances.
