Aberdeen confirm loan signing of Jeppe Okkels as Preston winger links up with former boss
Aberdeen have confirmed the signing of Danish winger Jeppe Okkels on loan from English Championship side Preston North End.
The 24-year-old links up with Jimmy Thelin once again after the Dons boss sold the forward to Dutch outfit FC Utrecht for £3million while the pair were at Elfsborg.
Okkels' deal comes with an option to buy, and will see the Dane spend the remainder of the season at Pittodrie after a tough start to the campaign under Paul Heckingbottom south of the border.

"Jeppe is someone we know well and is a player with a strong pedigree so we are delighted he has opted to join us at Aberdeen", Thelin told the club website.
"He is a good finisher, who will bring a goal threat and provide real quality to our midfield options with his technical ability.
"He has had a frustrating period, however, he is a good character and with the fight and determination he shows we are sure he will be a positive addition to the squad.
"We continue to look at ways in which we can strengthen the squad to bring more energy for the remainder of the season."

Thelin previously brought the former Danish youth international to Elfsborg from Silkeborg in 2020, and he had three years with him in Sweden.
Okkels scored 29 goals and provided 16 assists in 118 appearances, with his 11 goals in the 2023 campaign earning the Dane a move to FC Utrecht in the Netherlands.
However a bright start soon came to a crashing halt through injury, with Preston North End signing the winger just months into his Utrecht deal.
In Lancashire, Okkels made three starts in 10 appearances, including a clash with Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.

Okkels told RedTV: "I’ve been waiting for this opportunity. It’s good to get here to meet the boys and I’m excited to get going.
"It was really important to get this done quickly. I want to come here and help the team so the sooner I could be here the better and I’m just looking forward to this opportunity.
"I know the manager well, what he expects and how he sees football so I think it will be a good fit. He is hard working, calm and focussed on the journey so I only have good things to say.
"It’s important I get game time but I think that’s a good mix. I hope I will bring some quality, get some time on the pitch and make an impact."
