Aberdeen January transfer window recap as Jimmy Thelin makes six signings in bid to boost form
Another winter transfer window has come and gone, and Aberdeen have made some big changes to their squad in recent weeks.
Jimmy Thelin needed to bring in reinforcements and continue with his rebuild, with the Dons currently on a dire winless streak of 14 Premiership matches. But despite the results, the board have stuck by him and parted with over £1million in transfer fees during what has been a busy transfer window, with Aberdeen the busiest Premiership club of the lot in the closing hours.
Six new signings have been unveiled, while there have been two big departures on the final day of the window, and Thelin will be expecting some solid performances from the latest recruits to fix his side's form.

Take a look back through the transfer window and all the deals that have been done over the last month.

Kristers Tobers
The first arrival of the transfer window saw Latvia captain Kristers Tobers make the move from Grasshoppers in Switzerland to the Granite City.
The Dons shelled out £700,000 for the centre-back, and he has since become a regular under Thelin, but is still searching for his first league victory.
His arrival came at a good time, with the Dons having been short on centre-backs with Gavin Molloy and Jack Milne injured, and Slobodan Rubezic suspended.
Jeppe Okkels
Preston North End winger Jeppe Okkels was next through the door at Pittodrie, as he completed his move north on loan until the end of the season.
Okkels is a player known well by Thelin with the pair having previously worked together at Elfsborg before he moved on to FC Utrecht in the Netherlands.
An injury-hit spell was then brought to an end when he moved to Deepdale before reuniting with Thelin, and like Tobers, he too is still seeking that first taste of a Premiership victory.
Alfie Dorrington
Another loan arrival and defensive reinforcement came in the form of Alfie Dorrington, who moved to Pittodrie from Ange Postecoglou's Spurs.
Dorrington, who made his Dons debut against Rangers, will be in the north-east until the end of the season, with Spurs hopeful he can continue to develop further while gaining regular first team action.
Spurs star James Maddison once famously scored an iconic winner against Rangers at Pittodrie, and that seemed to be the perfect motivation for the Englishman.
But he is still searching for his first goal in Red, as he too continues to make regular outings since his arrival.

Alexander Jensen
More cash was shelled out by Aberdeen to improve the back line, with Alexander Jensen arriving on the same day as Dorrington.
The Dane was brought in from IF Brommapojkarna, and he also made his first appearance for the club in the clash at Ibrox last month.
£650,000 was spent on Jensen, taking the total well over the £1million mark as Aberdeen look to make sure they secure their return to European football.
And the left-back department is looking pretty healthy, with Jack MacKenzie still on the books despite reported interest from the English Championship.
Mats Knoester
Aberdeen have enjoyed plenty of success from their Dutch Dons of yesteryear, and they will be hoping for more courtesy of Mats Knoester.
Following the expiration of his contract at Ferencvaros, Knoester has joined the club on a two-and-a-half year deal in the fifth signing of the window and the first on deadline day.
Stefan Gartenmann, who previously featured for Aberdeen, had put in a good word and it paid off as the Dutchman expressed his delight upon arrival.
And fans will be looking forward to seeing what the centre-half brings to the table when he gets his first run out under Thelin.
Oday Dabbagh
The final signing of the window came in the form of Oday Dabbagh, answering the fans' prayers for reinforcement at the top end of the pitch.
Dabbagh, who arrived on loan from Belgian side Charleroi, has become a regular in the Palestine national team, only adding to the hype around his signing.
His deal comes with an option to buy and he will travel to Aberdeen once visa and immigration formalities are complete, with Thelin thrilled to have added to the attacking options on deadline day.

Outs
Angus MacDonald
He heroically led the Reds to European football an the iconic defensive trio including Mattie Pollock and Liam Scales, but after two years his time was up.
MacDonald had been a key player when he arrived from Swindon Town, with Barry Robson making him a regular starter in the side.
But his appearances became far and few in the months after, with highlights including memorable goals against HJK Helsinki and in the Scottish Cup semi-final clash with Celtic.
MacDonald departed on deadline day to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
Duk
The last deal to be sealed on deadline day was Duk's exit, with the winger joining Leganes for a fee of around £600,000, including a significant sell-on clause.
Duk arrived at Pittodrie from Benfica back in 2022 on a three-year deal, and burst onto the scene with 18 goals in his first season.
In total he bagged 27 goals in 113 games, but his ending in the Granite City was soured after going AWOL and failing to report to pre-season training.
He eventually repaired the relationship with Jimmy Thelin, but after the La Liga side's failed attempts to sign Duk in 2024, they came back in and got the deal done.
