AC Milan director Geoffrey Moncada has not ruled out the chance of Joao Felix staying at the club beyond the end of the season, after enjoying a dream start to life in Italy.

Felix, who joined Milan on a loan deal from Chelsea earlier this week, made his debut as a second-half substitute in the Coppa Italia against Roma on Wednesday. And the 25-year-old made an instant impact at San Siro, scoring 13 minutes into his first appearance for Milan.

With Sergio Conceicao's side 2-1 up thanks to a first-half brace from Tammy Abraham, Felix added a third in the 72nd minute, running through on goal before keeping his composure and dinking over the onrushing goalkeeper.

After scoring, Felix put his finger to his lips before recreating Stephen Curry's "Night Night" celebration by placing his hands together and resting his head on them.

Although it has been less than 72 hours since Felix joined Milan on loan, there has already been talk about making his stay permanent. Milan have no buy option in his contract, though it wouldn't be out the realms of possibility to see Felix leave the Blues for good in the summer, according to Moncada.

"Keeping Joao Felix here?" Moncada said, via Fabrizio Romano. "It will depend on Joao and on us. There are always chances, even without a buy option clause. We have an excellent relationship with Chelsea so we will see."

Felix, meanwhile, took to Instagram after his debut. He uploaded a post containing several pictures from the game with a message: "Thank you for the warm welcome, San Siro," along with red and black heart emojis.

Milan boss Conceicao was full of praise for Felix - and fellow new signing Santiago Gimenez - in his post-match press conference. He said: "Joao and Santiago also only had one training session, but understood immediately, confirming their intelligence.

"Felix scored a great goal, but we haven't done anything yet, we still have three games to go to win the Coppa Italia. Now we have to think about Empoli, which will be a very difficult challenge. We hope to continue like this."
