Adam Idah is Celtic £5million transfer bargain as technique 'better' than Moussa Dembele

Adam Idah is "technically better" than Moussa Dembele and he'd be a steal at £5million this summer.

That's the view of Celtic hero Peter Grant who believes the Hoops should splash the cash to keep the Irishman beyond his Norwich City loan this summer. Idah, 23, was met with criticism back on deadline day in January with some fans feeling he was was a panic buy from the club who needed a new striker.

The hitman has come up big at times with seven goals from his 14 outings and Grant, speaking on GO Radio, feels he'd be a good permanent acquisition who would make the club profit down the line should they wish to sell.

"For £5m? I think so because it is very difficult to get any striker for that type of money," Grant said when asked if Celts would sign the player. "I know he's not a number nine, but Sammie Smzodics has been scoring a lot of goals, and now you are talking about £15-20m for him at Blackburn who are sitting near the bottom of the league.

"We know what Idah can do and what he offers. He is hungry to score goals and is young. I think if he keeps taking the chances he can get better and more clinical, and you could end up getting big money again. Look what happened with Moussa Dembele. And I think he (Idah) is technically better than Moussa. They are different types of players but technique wise I think he brings that to his game as well."
