Carlisle United fans gave us their views on X after the 1-0 home defeat to Bradford City - here's a selection of their comments.

Thought we played well, just lack of match fitness and overall chemistry. That will come. Subs made us look worse, but can’t expect players to play 90 minutes after not playing much all season elsewhere (@ashlazy1991)

Some positives from new signings, they looked decent, but you won't get anything out of that side playing like that. It isn't working, why keep doing it? (@krisfoster)

It was easy to see in the first half the style of play he is trying to create and at times it was lovely. But, we’ve no cutting edge in the final third and when we did break Hugill was so isolated he had nowhere to go. We need pace and power up top or we are doomed. Also need RCB (@Halpinforpope)

Had time to calm down. Thought it was a game no one deserved to win tbh, they got their tails up after they scored which was a foul on Harris in the build up. Thought they were a much fitter side and pressed relentlessly after the goal. As usual no plan B. Patching looks good. (@luke_willmott_90)

We’ve signed 4 of the same midfielders, none of whom can run or tackle. We’ve got a young lad up front who’s been left even more isolated than Armstrong has been in recent games. Leaving no one up when Bradford had a corner on 85min sums Williamson up. This feels unfixable. We are down (@PeteMcCormick6)

Started well, new players looked confident & should bring us some joy hopefully but the substitutions seemed poor and we regressed to old ways in the last 15. Whelan & Harris our best players. Some chaotic playing out from the back at times, Breeze not as assured as usual. (@Rich_W27)

Decent enough for 55 minutes, then players' heads drop when we go one down. Fast paced 1st half, disjointed 2nd half. (@RonnieSmith1964)

Better first half but poor second ultimately we need to win games and we create little so we're now hoping something clicks or someone comes in & makes it work. Getting harder ever week to see us survive unless things change quickly! (@fish_blues)

Might have a chance if we play a team with a manager that won’t adapt to the game like ours doesn’t (@Chris_CA2)

Jones and Harris are our attacking players with the most quality, yet they get played as wing backs. Not difficult to work out why we don’t create anything with all the possession we have. They don’t want the ball given to them on the half way line facing their own goal. (@Scott_Divers)

We deserve to be exactly where we are. Going down. Can’t treat this league with the arrogance the club have over the last 4 month, expecting everything to be ok in January. Absolute shambles!! (@ScottBeeby1)

It’s fine having nice passing in midfield but we don’t create enough, for me our two wing backs should be further forward and influencing play. The formation has our lone striker isolated and without enough support. Going to have to keep spending to get out of this (@andrewhoddie)

First half looked much better, second half really, really poor. Toothless final third (@FyldeVandal)

New faces, same old story… play pretty decent, concede a goal, no plan B and no attacking threat other than Harris’s runs. Gotta be a lot better to have a sniff of survival (@W1seman1994)

Jones and Harris are better than the two 10s that played there. They didn’t work as wing backs. Some good debuts but nobody really troubled their keeper. Defeat at Fleetwood confirms our fate. A win? Possible as better away from home. (@paulmason2000)

Lots of promise. This is a reset. That was our pre-season. 1st game for this team. Still need wing backs so Harris & Jones can play further up the pitch. Another striker too. But as fans we need to stay calm, because we are showing fear. We have 21 games. We start on 0 pts today (@adydent67)

Another repeat rather than a re-set. Tippy-tappy football will only be any good when you score. No threat. No plan B. No hope. We have to win 11 games from 21. We've only won 4 from 25. (@BruceVander)

Had just uttered the words "dangerous time first 5 -10 minutes after HT". First half we looked decent, slick even, though Bradford played a brand of trip n run. Was sickened the first card went to McArthur! Three at the back is not enough, who's supposed to back up. Pointless!!! (@LindaNi121202)

Same problem of philosophy over points. Same mistakes. New players don't look fit. (@carlisl9125)

Nothing has changed, we will sign 3 midfielders this week and some poor sap up front will be feeding on scraps. I’ve given up totally on Williamson. (@fatflags)

Script exactly the same as so many home games this season. Start brightly, then lose our way as the opposition realise we carry little threat. Then concede, lose heart, and don't ever look like getting back in the game. (@MikeEwins)

Despite new faces, still so predictable, when our players receive the ball they dither and get dispossessed or pass side ways or back. We need a player who can hold the ball up front and has presence. I think we will not be able to turn this disaster around I hope I'm wrong. (@peterjo91525330)

No punch up front. Second half complete mishmash of people running about. (@alantorchwood)

New players.... same old.... 30 minutes of decent passing football, which created sod all.... then slowly lose confidence... concede a sloppy goal and then fall to bits. Rolling the ball around the defence slowly and predictably is not a winning plan. (@northumbrian_)

New set of players same crap system where the manager isn't capable or too big headed to change when something isn't working, we clearly have good players that at times show why we signed them but 3 at the back 1 up front will not work. Yes it's the first game but change the system (@Alistairwest145)

Should go to a back four. Jones and Harris receive the ball way to deep, leaving far too much to do. Let’s be honest, both of them have to offer much more than wing back play. (@mike_conve30651)

A wise man once said "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result" They figured us out, changed the system and we refused to change ours to adapt. If we were as good going forward as we are backwards we would be lethal (@keeperstuart)

Take a look at the game stats for the Walsall v MK Dons game to highlight that our football philosophy is not for Lg2. It's what you do with the possession in the attacking 3rd that counts! (@Andythehood)

Disappointing. Reasonable 1st half, although warning sign there with glaring miss from them. Unable to recover from goal. Subs didn't work again. Very little goal threat at all (@McCarlisle1)

Same old story. Different players, same failed tactics. Almost zero goal threat. Trying to tippy-tappy the ball around at the back even when we're losing. By persisting with Williamson the Piataks continue to destroy our football club, shame on them. (@Piglet_Phoenix)

It's just poor, this season will not end well. (@Heathencufc)
