The agent of Manchester United transfer target Patrick Dorgu has posted to Instagram to indicate he was in Manchester this morning.

As reported by MEN Sport, the club have opened talks with Serie A side US Lecce for the transfer of Dorgu, 20. They remain keen to make additions to Ruben Amorim's squad with the left full-back berth in desperate need of attention.

With the situation live as of Monday morning, it is understood that talks have so far been with the opposite club, they remain ongoing and Man United are yet to find any agreement on a deal Fabrizio Romano believes would cost €40m (£33.8m).

However, the player's agent, Kingsley Ogbodo, has revealed himself to have been in the city this morning. He makes no indication as to whether this is related to the Danish international's possible transfer or for other reasons.

Simply, his Instagram story shows a selfie taken with a view over his own shoulder looking outside the window of Manchester Airport's departures lounge. It is captioned: "Please remember me what time of year we are in?"

This could be an innocent referral to the UK's inconsistent January weather or perhaps is a nod to the month in which transfers are allowed to take place.

Ogbodo has acted as Dorgu's agent ever since his youth career at Nordsjaelland, as evidenced in May 2021 via the same Instagram account. In November 2023 they reportedly joined forces with the agency CAA Base, who represent Tottenham Hotspur stars James Maddison, Heung-min Son, Richarlison, Pedro Porro and Pape Matar Sarr, plus Chelsea's Tosin Adarabioyo.

Ogbodo has continued to act as the full-back's representative, during which time he has accumulated 56 senior appearances in Italy. 22 of those have been in Serie A this term with three goals and one assist in the competition.
