Airdrie hero Ben Wilson: We've never stopped believing results would turn
Ben Wilson insists Airdrie never lost belief in their 19-game streak without a win and says their perseverance is now starting to show with vital results.
The Diamonds beat Queen's Park 2-1 on Saturday to cut the gap at the bottom of the Championship to nine points, with the Northern Irishman scoring twice from the penalty spot, either side of Josh Scott's leveller for 10-man Spiders, who had Adam Devine sent off late on.
It was Wilson's fourth goal in three games and he says momentum is now with the Diamonds as they head into a break from league action to face Dundee in a Scottish Cup fifth round tie on Saturday.

Wilson, who took his tally for the season to 12, said: "The morale never really dropped. It was tough for the boys and everyone involved with the club, but we will just look to keep building on this.
"That 19-game run was difficult but morale was kept high throughout - and that is showing now. The confidence is flowing throughout the team and I am just happy to contribute with goals.
"It was important we followed up last week's result [a 3-0 win over Dunfermline], otherwise last week would have meant nothing. I thought everyone was outstanding. We defended really well and took our chances when they came.
"It's four goals in three now. At the start of the season I was going really well and then it dried up a bit, but that is the life of a striker. You just have to keep sticking at it, keep getting in those positions, and thankfully the chances are falling for me now. It would have been nice to get three but it wasn't to be."
The Diamonds were fortunate in the game to survive a late penalty scare, with Lewis McGregor's high boot on Adam Devine going unpunished and leading to both Devine and Spiders boss Callum Davidson sent off for second bookings.
Fuming Spiders boss Callum Davidson said: "In the last minute, Adam's nearly had a kung fu kick to the head. Roddy McGregor got sent off for something similar at Livingston this season, but Airdrie got a goal kick out of it."
Meanwhile, Airdrie now head to the City of Discovery knowing they were on the end of a 6-1 hiding there in the League Cup back in July. But Wilson says they are in a much better place now.
"The last game is in the past. Confidence is high now and we will be looking to take that into the game," the 23-year-old said. "We've got a lot of depth back in the squad now and we will go there and give it our best go.
"Anything can happen in the cup. We are on a high and playing some nice stuff so I don't see why we can't cause an upset."
