Concerned Alan Brazil admits Rangers have "picked up" after they battled to a point just before the cup final showdown with Celtic.

Philippe Clement's side will look to keep the Premier Sports Cup in the Ibrox trophy cabinet when they travel to Hampden on Sunday to face Brendan Rodgers' relentless side. The Premiership leaders have yet to suffered defeat domestically so far this campaign and the Irishman will have his sights set on lifting the only piece of silverware that alluded him last term following his return to Scottish football.

But the Light Blues have picked up in form and this week claimed a Europa League point against Tottenham with Clement's men left frustrated not to bag all three against Ange Postecoglou's side. Diehard Celtic fan reckons that the result brought out an unseen side of the Australian after the Hoops' boss unleashed on Timo Werner after the full-time whistle.

He told talkSPORT: "Ange doesn't really do that a lot. I think it could be time up - not for Ange, for Timo Werner. I think it will be 'see you later'.

"He is definitely getting frustrated now Ange, but from a Rangers point of view they have picked up. They have Celtic in the cup final, they will be delighted with that."

And former Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has a creeping concern over the blockbuster showdown - as he declared that the weather in Mount Florida could work in the favour of Rangers. He told Gambling Zone: "It's always a concern, no matter who you play. I've played in cup finals myself.

"You're always thinking in the back of your mind, we can lose this. We can lose this for whatever reason, because strange things happen in cup ties. We've seen it happen before. Strange things, they really are. Conditions can make a difference.

"You've seen Aberdeen try to play Celtic on Wednesday. Conditions were horrendous. For all your plans on how you try and play football, the conditions are horrendous. Celtic Park is so enclosed that hardly any wind gets in, but Hampden does a different thing altogether.

"It's put back, there's wind swirling about all over the place. There's all kinds of things that can happen. Celtic must be favourites because they're playing really well. But from the Rangers' point of view, I think if you'd asked them both a month ago, ‘Na, I'm not really looking forward to it,’ but I think they are looking forward now."
