Alan Shearer aims ruthless Liverpool dig at Micah Richards - 'He was gritting his teeth'
Alan Shearer aimed a cheeky dig at Micah Richards following Liverpool's 2-0 win over Manchester City. The Newcastle United icon couldn't resist a quip at the ex-City defender after the Reds moved one step closer to claiming the Premier League title.
First-half goals from Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai were enough for Arne Slot's side as they ended their 10-year wait for a win in the top flight - extending their lead at the top to 11 points in the process.
Richards was a part of the Sky Sports panel at the Etihad Stadium and was joined by Jamie Carragher, Daniel Sturridge and Roy Keane to preview and analyse proceedings. It was during the coverage that the Magpies legend noticed one thing about his podcast colleague.

Speaking on the Rest is Football Podcast, Shearer made a ruthless dig prior to the former defender's arrival. He said: "Did you see Micah trying to be nice about Liverpool? You could see he was gritting his teeth, the Manchester City ambassador was hurt (laughs)."
Liverpool face Shearer's former club on Wednesday with the opportunity to continue setting the place, while Arsenal travel to Champions League hopefuls Nottingham Forest. The visit of the Magpies is the first of seven home matches during the 11-match run until the end of the season for Arne Slot.
With Salah continuing to shatter records, Liverpool earned further praise, with Shearer adding: "I thought everything about their game, they were just in control of that game at all times.
"I never thought they were flustered, once they got the first goal I thought Liverpool were going to take all the points - they very impressive. It's pretty much done, it's pretty much their title."
