Alan Shearer shares biggest concern after controversial Myles Lewis-Skelly Arsenal red card
Alan Shearer has raised concerns over VAR after Myles Lewis-Skelly's controversial sending-off during Arsenal's 1-0 win over Wolves on Saturday.
The Gunners were level in the first half, with the score at Molineux 0-0, before Lewis-Skelly stopped a dangerous Wolves counter-attack from a corner. It is assumed that the referee will issue a yellow card in such incidents, but to Arsenal's fury, on-field official Michael Oliver issued a straight red card for violent conduct.
It means that unless the decision is retrospectively overturned, Lewis-Skelly will miss the Gunners' next three domestic fixtures. The 18-year-old will be suspended as it stands for games against Manchester City, Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup and Leicester City.

And former Newcastle and Blackburn Rovers striker Shearer has had his say on the incident whilst working as a pundit for Match of the Day.
"It's a terrible decision," he said. "(Michael Oliver) got a really good view of it.
"The criteria for the red card.. there's no speed, there's no intent, the force is not endangering an opponent and he is about 90 yards from goal so when you put all that together, never ever a red card.
"What worries me more than anything would be you've got an assistant VAR and you have got a VAR who have seen several replays in slow motion and they think that that is a clear red card, serious foul play, and they don't think of the idea to say to the referee 'I think have made a big error there and you need to go to the screen'.
"That would be the worrying thing for me because it is a terrible decision."
