Albion have signed an Ajax and Holland midfielder ahead of the WSL transfer deadline.

Nadine Noordam, 26, is expected to join the squad tomorrow once paperwork is completed.

The announcement comes as Albion prepare to face Crystal Palace at Broadfield Stadium on Sunday.

Albion head coach Dario Vidosic said: “We’re really pleased to have Nadine at Brighton.

“She is a versatile and high-energy central midfielder who can create and score goals.

“She has got a lot of domestic experience in the Netherlands and in the Champions League so has played at the highest level in club football.

“Nadine is keen to play in the WSL, and we think she can have a big impact for us in the short and long-term. I’m looking forward to seeing her in a Brighton shirt and to being part of our squad.”

Noordam, 26, has been a regular for Ajax, making 105 appearances in all competitions, scoring 18 goals and winning the Eredivisie title in the 2022-23 season, as well as two KNVB Women's Cups.

She has also played in the Champions League and represented her country from under-15 to under-23 age groups.

Alvion were also understood to have been eyeing England star Chloe Kelly.

Vidosic said: “There were players we spoke to but it is hard.

“We are happy. We are just hopeful to get everyone staying on the park and Fran (Kirby) back as well, hopefully soon, and then we should be okay.”
