Albion have goalkeeper decision as they head to Aston Villa in FA Cup
Albion have competition for their starting goalkeeper spot.
And that has given Dario Vidosic a decision to make as his side visit Aston Villa in the fifth round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
Sophie Baggaley has often been outstanding for the Seagulls since her move from Manchester United ahead of last season.
At one stage, Seagulls boss Vidosic revealed he had been sounded out by England boss Sarina Wiegman about her Lionesses credentials.
But Melina Loeck has played in the last two games, including last week’s WSL draw against Crystal Palace.
Vidosic said: “They both have different qualities. Mel on her opportunity has done well and she has been training well.
“We have given her a chance.
“She didn’t have to do an awful lot at the weekend but it is always nice when you have got two really good keepers at a high level.
“They are competing. They help to push each other so we will assess this week.
“We will see what we require for the game at the weekend and then we will make a decision there.”
Mid-season signings Nadine Noordam and Caitlin Hayes were both among the unused subs against Palace as they settle into their new surroundings.
Vidosic said: “We will try and make it as quick as possible.
“We need to see them in the environment, which has been hard with the schedule.
“We have not had opportunities to train and, if we have, it has only been with players who are recovering.
“We can’t really get them in those game situations and to really delve into what we do.
“Now we are finally getting those opportunities. They both bring good quality.
“It is continue to work hard, continue to take in a lot of information, which they have, and they will definitely help us in this next part of the season.”
Albion's cup tie with Aston Villa takes place on Saturday (midday) at Walsall FC.
