Alejandro Garnacho is, reportedly, not actively pursuing an exit from Manchester United during January's transfer window - despite Chelsea's proposed interest in his services.

On Friday, it emerged that the Blues have enquired about the possibility of signing the Argentine this winter. Enzo Maresca's side are currently looking into the prospect of bringing in wingers to further strengthen their wide areas.

Garnacho has emerged on radar after reports suggested that United are open to selling their academy graduates to try and conform with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). This week it is understood that an offer worth £40million from Napoli was rejected by United for Garnacho.

While the Naples club are still keen on him, they are now pursuing other targets, to keep their options open. With Chelsea observing the Garnacho situation closely, our colleagues at The Manchester Evening News have provided an update from the forward's camp regarding his future.

It is said that Garnacho does not hold any pressing ambitions to leave Old Trafford, unlike his teammate Marcus Rashford. The pair were both dropped for the Premier League derby clash vs Manchester City in mid-December.

However, while Garnacho managed to return to the matchday squad for their next match, Rashford has remained out - apart from a role as an unused substitute in the defeat to Newcastle at Old Trafford. Reports have suggested United would be willing to sell Garnacho for a fee in the region of £60million, but it remains to be seen whether or not Chelsea would be willing to do a deal for that particular price.

The two clubs have already done business this season - when Jadon Sancho made the switch from Old Trafford to Stamford Bridge on an initial loan. That agreement will be made permanent next summer.
