Alejandro Garnacho fires clear Man Utd transfer message amid Chelsea talks as deal confirmed
Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho has said his goodbye to Marcus Rashford but could yet be following him out of the club on deadline day. Rashford leaves United to join Aston Villa on loan with an option to move permanently in the summer.
Garnacho is still waiting for his future to be resolved after a dramatic month of talks and negotiations with Chelsea and Napoli. He played the full game on Saturday as United lost 2-0 at home to Crystal Palace.
Rashford was not involved as he completed a medical with Villa instead, ending months of uncertainty over his own transfer. Garnacho, who is one to watch over the final hours of the window, is among those to have wished his teammate farewell.

Along with Jadon Sancho - currently on loan but set to join Chelsea properly in the summer - Garnacho wished Rashford well online. Writing below the 27-year-old's message of thanks on Instagram, Garnacho replied: "All the best Rash! [king and raised hands emojis]".
Sancho added: "He's back! [fingers crossed and red heart emojis]". Attention will now be on Garnacho himself as the window draws to a close.
Chelsea have remained interested in completing a deal for the 20-year-old throughout the last four weeks. They face West Ham on Monday, February 3, towards the close of deadline day. That adds a complicating factor to the equation.
Having been cut from the team last month in the Manchester derby, United boss Ruben Amorim made his stance on selling Garnacho perfectly clear. “He changed right after that City game," he said. "He’s improving but it’s not from me — it’s the way he understands things.
“I just want to help him. He understands sometimes I am a different coach. That I’m demanding in my way and sometimes it is hard to make the first impact. All the merit is for Garnacho. He understood the position, playing inside and outside. The connection with Mainoo.”
