Manchester United could be involved in a transfer domino action in the final days of the January window as clubs scramble to complete deals before Monday’s 11pm deadline.

The last few days has seen Premier League clubs linked with transfers in terms of both incomings and outgoings. One of those for United is the potential exit of winger Alejandro Garnacho.

The Argentine has been the subject of interest from both Napoli and Chelsea. But, as reported by the Manchester Evening News, the Blues have moved ahead of their Serie A rivals in the transfer race.

A possible deal to see Christopher Nkunku move to Old Trafford has been spoken about in the media. This window, United have known that they would have to sell before bringing in any significant signings and while Garnacho isn’t being pushed out of the door, he is one player who could leave before the deadline.

His potential exit from Old Trafford could potentially rest on two other transfers involving clubs from the Premier League and the Saudi Pro League. And it seems the wheels are in motion for that to happen.

Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran looks to be closing in on a transfer to Saudi side Al Nassr for a fee of around £63 million. Should that go through, that could prompt Villa to act on their interest in Chelsea’s Joao Felix.

The attacking midfielder has struggled for regular starts under Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge since a £45m summer move. Reports suggest that talks are taking place between Chelsea and Villa over a potential move for Felix.

If progress is made on a move, then that could then open the door for Chelsea to progress on a potential transfer for Garnacho. The domino could then continue with United potentially using any funds for late deals, or to help in the summer transfer window.

Clubs have just over three days for all the pieces to fall into place. The January window closes at 11pm on Monday, 3 February.
