Alejandro Garnacho has sent a pretty clear message to Chelsea over completing a potential £65million transfer in the next ten days. In case anyone was not aware, he would be an excellent addition to Enzo Maresca's attacking unit.

Garnacho has been frozen out somewhat at Manchester United, failing to assert himself on new head coach Ruben Amorim and struggling for game time. He has started just one of the last seven Premier League matches, although he has played a part in all of them.

Both Garnacho and Marcus Rashford are looking for moves away from Old Trafford and both would represent pure profit for United. For Amorim, there is a feeling that he could get someone better to fill the roles - his own man, someone he trusts more than the two current United players.

The Portuguese was non-committal about Garnacho's future after the 21-year-old produced a stellar display in the Europa League against Rangers on Thursday night. Amorim said: "I don't know what will happen. Let's focus on the games. We have these players so let's improve the team and think about the players that are here."

Garnacho was named Manchester Evening News' joint man of the match with Bruno Fernandes, getting 8/10 in their post-match player ratings. They said: "His best performance under Ruben Amorim. Had a goalbound shot blocked and hit the post. The Stretford End sang his name."

United's stance has not changed. According to our friends at the Manchester Evening News, "United are still open to selling him".

They went on to say: "Losing that kind of final third impact will be a body blow to a team already short on goals. It will be even worse if he stays in the Premier League and moves to a side that should be considered rivals. If he does go, United need a plan to reinvest that cash quickly and smartly.

"But the reality is United need to sell to buy and they clearly need to buy. Garnacho is collateral damage because he isn't a natural fit in this system and he's a player other clubs would spend big on it. The Stretford End's song was a reminder that if he does go, it won't go down well with supporters."

Garnacho was excellent against Rangers, in his one opportunity to prove to everyone what he is all about. He is in the shop window, that is for sure, and he could well keep his place for the game against Fulham on Sunday. That is, if Chelsea have not swooped by then and they probably should do. They are readying a bid, football.london understands, it's just a case of when.
