Alex Hartridge returns to Exeter City as loan deal completed
Exeter City have made their second loan signing of the day – and it’s a second returning player. After Ryan Trevitt rejoined on loan this afternoon, defender Alex Hartridge has returned to Exeter City on loan from Wycombe Wanderers until the end of the season, subject to EFL approval.
Hartridge left the Grecians at the end of the 2023-24 season following the expiry of his contract. Having only featured 14 times for the Chairboys, he has now returned to the club as Gary Caldwell looks to bolster his defensive options for the remainder of the campaign.
The 25-year-old, who came through the City academy from the age of eight, made 154 appearances in red and white in his first spell at St James Park. He is available immediately and goes straight into the squad for Saturday's trip to Stevenage.

Manager Gary Caldwell said: "We are obviously looking for a centre-half that we need. Alex knows the club, and we know Alex, and in this situation it feels like a brilliant signing to bring him back to the club.
"It won't take any time for him to fit in or get to know people, and that understanding will be there straight away. We know for League One he is a very good centre-half and we are looking forward to having him back."
Hartridge's arrival takes City's total of loanees to six, alongside goalkeeper Joe Whitworth, defender Johnly Yfeko, midfielders Trevitt, Tony Yogane and Joel Colwill. While only five are allowed in any matchday squad, Yfefo is set to miss most of, if not the rest of the season, with a hamstring injury
