Alexander Isak to Arsenal transfer 'imminent' as 'secret agent' brokers dream Newcastle deal
Arsenal have been given an update on Alexander Isak's future. The 25-year-old striker continues to be heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his frontline.
Isak, who sees his contract at St. James' Park expire in June 2028, has featured 23 times for Newcastle United in the Premier League this season, scoring 17 goals and providing five assists. Playing a key role in Eddie Howe's side, the Sweden international has fired the Magpies into the top seven.
He's also helped Newcastle reach the Carabao Cup final, finding the net against Chelsea and Arsenal en-route to Wembley Stadium. With Arteta eager to bolster his attacking options after he was left empty handed in January, Isak has been mooted as a potential target.

In fact, the Swede could be the most coveted striker in Europe this summer, so the Gunners will need as much firepower as possible to secure his signature. Desperate to see Arsenal land Isak, 'Chunkz' – one of the biggest social media influencers in the United Kingdom – has tried to broker a deal.
Chunkz visited the Newcastle training ground this week, meeting Isak, Bruno Guimaraes and William Osula. The social media star, who has 4.5m followers on Instagram and just under 3.7m subscribers on YouTube, snapped a picture with Magpies striker.
"Best striker in the league, my East African brudda [shake hands emoji]," wrote Chunkz, captioning a photo of the pair holding a signed shirt. In his next Instagram story, the social media star wrote: "Agent Chunkz in action. Isak -> Arsenal imminent (Jus joking he said he loves Newcastle [crying emoji] I tried though)."
Speaking to Swedish publication Fotbal Skanalen in November, as quoted by 90min, Isak claimed he's not thought about his future despite links to Arsenal. He said: "Throughout my career, I have never talked about or really commented on the move rumours during the season.
"There have been many such years where it has been talked about. It doesn't affect me. I am commenting on my situation in Newcastle, and I have never had any problem there.
"I am fully focused on my task there and that we will have a fantastic season. There are still great opportunities for that. I have no thoughts about anything else.
"The only thing I can say is that a lot of information and rumours often come out. Much of what I read is not true. So that’s about all I can say about the whole thing."
The Telegraph recently reported that Newcastle want to reward Isak with a bumper new contract, which is currently set to expire in June 2028, at the end of the season. It's been said that the Magpies also value the forward at 'more than £150m'.
