Arsenal find themselves at the midway stage of the January transfer window and they are firmly in the mix of the Premier League title race.

Manchester City find themselves out of the title race in January and if, at the start of the season, you would have been told that, the assumption would have been that Arsenal were running away with the title. However, Liverpool have been the surprise package this season under Arne Slot and they find themselves with a six point gap at the top of the Premier League.

They are also benefiting from a game in hand over their rivals which leaves Mikel Arteta's side with somewhat of a mountain to climb. The January transfer window offers Arsenal a chance to add strength to their squad even if it is notoriously difficult to spend in the winter when Financial Fair Play (FFP) restrictions loom.

But, football.london has taken a look at what a dream transfer window could look like for the Gunners.

Isak bid

A new centre-forward would have been ideal for Arsenal in the summer when striking options were limited. Now in January, that desire has not diminished and there is one standout player you want to sign in a dream world.

Newcastle United's Alexander Isak has been the standout strikmer this season and he finds himself in electric form. Since Declan Rice joined, Arsenal have not made a signing that was headline grabbing but Isak would be that guy.

The issue for Arsenal would be whether they could draw him away from a club and city that he loves.

Saka replacement

Bukayo Saka's injury at Crystal Palace was a concern but the Gunners have managed to negotiate any particular issues that could have arisen, so far. But, a winger has been needed for a while and you wonder if Arsenal can sustain a challenge at the top for the remainder of the season.

In a dream world, Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams would be an incredible signing to potentially replace Saka. He has been less prolific but he remains a strong talent that could blossom in the Premier League.

Alexander-Arnold drama

To wrap up a brilliant transfer window for Arsenal would be further drama at Liverpool regarding Trent Alexander-Arnold. It seems certain that the full-back will depart Anfield at the end of the season, at the latest.

But, should Real Madrid push harder to sign him in January, that could disrupt the Liverpool camp and potentially open the door a bit further ajar for the Gunners.
