Paul Pogba's latest social media post has hinted he could soon join a new club amid links with a return to the Premier League.

The former Manchester United star is currently a free agent after leaving Juventus earlier this season. The midfielder was initially given a four-year ban for failing an anti-doping test but it was later reduced to 18 months.

Reports have suggested the 31-year-old can resume training this month and will be eligible to play again from March. Having played for United on two different occasions (2011-12 and 2016-2022), Pogba has been linked with a return to Old Trafford.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday night, he posted two pictures of himself followed by the caption: "Pray, work and patience... The future is already written. God is in control."

Despite rumours about a return to Manchester, former defender Wes Brown has talked down the possibility. "I'm not sure about Paul Pogba coming back to United for a third time," he said.

"I can't see it happening. Paul, obviously, as an individual player, he's absolutely class. I've always loved how he played. Again, he gets a lot of stick, but there is no doubting his ability as an individual. Being out for 18 months will be tough for him – it will take him some time to get back to the levels we've seen him produce before.

"I know he'll be training somewhere, but it's a bit different training in isolation, not being around world-class players. Someone will definitely pick him up, no doubt about it, but I can't see it's going to be Man United if I'm being honest."

Pogba has also been linked with a surprise move to Manchester City. Pep Guardiola's side have been hit with problems in midfield this season.
