Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho showed the football world exactly what he is capable of doing on Thursday night with a dazzling display against Rangers.

The 20-year-old started in the Europa League clash at Old Trafford and was United's most dangerous threat throughout. He hit the post from close range before forcing Jack Butland into a good save.

Bruno Fernandes' dramatic winner at the back post endured Ruben Amorim all but secured their spot in the last 16 of the competition with one game remaining. Cyriel Dessers had equalised in the 88th minute after Butland had punched the ball into his own net.

Amorim remained adamant at not being drawn into speculation over Garnacho's future after reports emerged prior to kick-off that Chelsea were preparing to make an official move for him.

After the game, Garnacho posted a series of images on Instagram from the gam, including one of him applauding the Stretford End. He wrote on the social media platform: "Strong team performance. Thank you Old Trafford."

The post was flooded with comments from United fans pleading with him to stay at the club and Chelsea fans telling him to make the switch to Stamford Bridge. Harry Maguire and Toby Collyer also commented, but there was another noticeable name in the comments.

United target Alvaro Fernandez, who left the club to join Benfica in the summer, has been linked with a return to M16, with the club having a buy-back option on the Spaniard.

The left-back was teammates with Garnacho in the United academy, and they look to remain close. Fernandez commented on Garnacho's post with three fire emojis on the winger's post. The subtle reply was greeted with replies from United fans telling the 21-year-old to come back to the club.
