Former Ipswich Town loanee Tayo Edun has joined Peterborough United from fellow League One side Charlton Athletic on a permanent deal until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old defender joined the Addicks from Blackburn Rovers in July 2023, where he made 37 appearances in total.

But Edun hasn't featured for Nathan Jones' side this season, so now links up with Posh, who are currently five points above the drop zone in the third tier under Darren Ferguson.

On signing for his new club, he said: "I know the manager has wanted to sign me for a while now, as a player it is always great to be wanted and I am looking forward to getting started.

"In the last year, I haven't played as much football as I would have liked, so hopefully I can come and play games and help the team as much as I can.

"I know what this league is all about, it is relentless, games come thick and fast, but that is what I want, I want that regular football."

Edun had a loan spell at Town from Fulham back in the 2018/19 season, and scored on his debut for the Blues against Blackburn on the opening day of that campaign.

However, he only played a further six games during his spell at Portman Road after his loan was cut short due to an eye injury which required an operation, and returned to Craven Cottage at the end of 2018.

He departed the Cottagers in January 2020 to sign for Lincoln City, where he helped the Imps reach the third tier play-off final in 2020/21.
